Claire Palmiter
Boys Assistant Coach
Coach Claire has spent the majority of their life immersed in the game of volleyball, cherishing every moment of it. As a middle hitter, she was fortunate to compete at the highest level during her high school seasons, helping Gresham High School earn a 4th place state title in her senior year. Coach Claire also played for various coaches at Oregon (now Adidas) NW Juniors Volleyball Club, where she developed her volleyball IQ and honed valuable team skills.

Although Coach Claire chose to play softball in college, she remained connected to volleyball by working as the stat taker for the athletic department’s volleyball program. After college, Coach Claire had the opportunity to coach a girls’ 14’s team for Adidas NW Juniors, where her volleyball knowledge and newly acquired coaching skills were put to the test.

When COVID-19 disrupted the volleyball world, Coach Claire stepped away, but was eager to return when her high school coach invited her to assist with the annual volleyball summer camp at her alma mater. That summer camp led to a full-time volunteer role with the high school, where Coach Claire assisted all of the teams as needed. For the past two years, Coach Claire has primarily worked with the varsity team at Gresham High School.

In the spring of 2024, Coach Claire was also given the opportunity to serve as an assistant coach for the Park Rose Boys Volleyball program, helping lead the team to a 4th place finish at the state tournament. Coach Claire believes that volleyball is an excellent way for kids to learn important life lessons such as teamwork, perseverance, and integrity. She hopes to instill the same passion and love for the game that her coaches once gave her, and is looking forward to a season full of hard work and fun times.
